Know God: Prayer

{ John 17: 3 } This eternal Life to know Him, the only true God and Jesus Christ who God has sent.

{ 1 John 5 : 12 – 13 } He who has the Son has life.

{ John 10 : 14 – 15 } I am the good shepherd and I know my own and my own know me.

Personal Relationship : Prayer is to know the Lord on a personal basis

Spent time together, one heart, friendship, hang out, share intimate things, honest, no walls, know the strengths & weaknesses of the other person yet still love them, no hidden secrets, accepts & communicates.

Five Senses:

1. Hear :

{ John 10 : 27 } My sheep hear my voice.

{ Romans 10 : 17 } Faith comes by hearing. Example – woman with cancer in UK.

{ Rev 2 : 29 }He who has ears hear what the Spirit says to the church.

2. Touch:

{ Mark 5 : 25 – 33 } If only I touched His garments I would get well. Power went forth from Jesus and he said who touched me.

Out of Compassion Jesus touched and healed many. They saw no judgement but love & forgiveness.

{ Luke 4 : 18 – 19 } Spirit of the Lord is upon me to heal the broken hearted , bind up their wounds, set the captives free.

His love melted their hard hearts and prostitutes wept at the feet of Jesus.

He held children in His arms and blessed them. He was a Shepard to the Lambs & feed the sheep. As he laid his hands upon them they were healed. He touched me and I will never be the same again.

{ Eph 3 : 14 – 21 } Bow the knee that Jesus will dwell in us through faith, and that we may know the love of God. Height , depths, width of His love.

3. See:

Read the word of God & to know it in your heart { 2 Cor 3 : 2 - 8 } { 2 Tim 4 : 1 - 4 } { Matt 4: 4 }

{ Heb 12: 2 } Fix your eyes upon Jesus. Which Jesus do you see – a risen one or a dead one? Maybe a historical one?

Eyes are the windows of our soul. God wants us to see His Glory and be changed by it.

Eyes to see Heaven opened wide, Visions, dreams, transformation power of His Presence.

Eyes to see things in the 3^rd Heaven from a Heavenly perspective not an earthly one. See people in a new light.

{ Eph 1 : 18 } Eyes of our heart opened.

4. Smell:

{ 2 Cor 2 : 15 } We are the fragrance of God.

{ Rev 5 : 8 } Prayers of the saints are like incense to the Lord.

5. Taste:

Drink and be filled with the new wine of God’s Spirit.

{ Psalm 34 : 8 } Taste and see the Lord is good.

{ Heb 6 : 4 – 15 } Tasted of the Heavenly gifts , partakers of the Holy Spirit, tasted the word of God.

{ Matt 4 : 4 } Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.

{ Rev 22 : 17 } Drink freely of the River of Life, living water.

Communion : Bread & the Wine { 1 Cor 10 : 16 } Cup of Blessings.

Friendship with God.

{ John 15 : 12 – 16 }

Hang out, accepts you, forgives you, Listening ear, Trust worthy and keep confidence.

Will go through trials / hardships / tests / rough times /.

{ Proverbs 17 : 17 } a friend loves at all times and a brother is born for adversity.

Bad company corrupts good morals.

Key is who do you hang out with.

They affect you and you can affect them.

Lead or be a follower.

Be an instrument of change or be changed. Peer group pressure.

Acceptance, self worth, self esteem.

If you hang out/develop intimacy with the Lord God He will introduce you to His friends.
